Gardening Club grows
A new local group has joined the growing list of
users of the Hall. Brindle Gardening Club was set up in
2009 and meet on the third Thursday of each month at the
Hall. They have a varied programme for 2010, with a
range of talks and visits.

Busy start to the year
January sees a busy month with private bookings by
way of a Golden Wedding party and a children's party.
Besides regular meeting of the Historical Society,
the Women’s Institute, the Mother's Union and the BOFFS
(Brindle over 55s), there are four exercise classes,
four art classes and two patchwork classes.
The Hall welcomes a meeting of Pony Club members
during the afternoon of the 17th whilst Brindle St.
James' Church have organised a 'Burns Night' on the
23rd.
Annual General Meeting 2009
Several new Officers were elected at the AGM in
November 2009.
The new Chairman is Brindle resident Steve Williams,
who served as the Vice-Chairman since 2003. Stephanie
Sibbles-Horridge replaces him as Vice-Chairman and Keith
Horrocks is the new Treasurer, replacing Bernard Kellett
who stepped down after seven years service.
A presentation was made to Bernard Kellett and
retiring Chairman Susan Burgess in December.
Brindle Cuckoo Walks 2010
Arrangements are well advanced for the annual Brindle
Cuckoo Walks. They will be held this year on Saturday,
24th April and proceeds will go towards environmental
projects at the Hall over the next two years.

On-going external works at the Hall
A new Bin Store is set to be built in early 2010 as
part of the on-going work to the hall surroundings.
During 2009 a new terrace was built at the rear of
the Hall whilst the car park was re-surfaced and marked
out. A new information board and notice-board were
erected in November, courtesy of funding from the
Lancashire Environmental Fund.
Hall to feature in 'Lancashire Life'
Hall Chairman, Steve Williams (who is also Secretary
of the Brindle Historical Society) met with a reporter
from ‘Lancashire Life’ before Christmas. The monthly
magazine will feature Brindle and the Community Hall in
their February edition.
